Proximity to the beach, butterfly sanctuary, and Monterey aquarium. We booked because of the room amenities...fireplace, living room.
Nice hotel in a quiet location but close to Monterey and 17 mile drive. Comfortable and clean room including a popcorn machine. Complimentary cheese and wine early evening. Kelly made us very welcome and was helpful in finding a good local restaurant (Fishwife).
Nothing. A basic hotel with no frills but friendly and comfortable.
The friendliness of the staff was great!!! They made you feel really welcome and had answers to questions about local places that they recommended for our brief stay. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful which is what a friend and I were looking for so that we could relax and and stress-down from our jobs. She was from Oregon and seemed to enjoy the ammenities that were provided as well as the surrounding God-made ammenties of nature. I had been there several times and always have enjoyed my stays. I will go back as soon as I am able. It is place that I find self-renewing. Thanks to all for everything.
One small thing was that our tv had a problem getting anymore than one channel. We just didn't get excited enough to bug the front desk about it. We enjoyed the movies and programs on the Hallmark Channel. We weren't there to just watch television. There is so much more to see and do, and we did!!! I rather hate to recommend this place because it will get too busy, but of course I will.
I really liked the rooms. We had plenty of space and it was very nice. It isn't a luxury place, but perfectly comfortable and friendly. Loved the fact that it had a fireplace. It was nice and clean.
Really liked everything about it. Would appreciate some peanut butter packages to go with the bagels!
EVERYTHING. I absolutely LOVED this inn. The staff, the setting, the amenities, the location. I would LOVE to stay there again!
The upstairs neighbors were a bit noisy...the floor needs a little attention.
The Pacific Gardens Inn is perfect if you want to enjoy the countryside and the coast. In fact, Asilomar Beach and Spanish Beach are very close to the accommodation. The Pacific Gardens Inn is located in a very quite area, perfect to relax. Rooms are very large and comfortable. They have also a usefull fireplace.
The manager was accessible and extremely accomodating. Her really personalized the stay. Further, we were extremely close to the beach, and a great boardwalk to view the ocean.Once inside the room we took advantage of the in-room fireplace. Perfect accomodations for our needs.
Very pleasant rooms close to Asilomar beach and Pacific Grove. Could walk to the state beach. Nice breakfast, excellent staff. Very comfortable beds, nice fireplace.
Bathroom beginning to show wear, sink plumbing needed repair for leaky faucet. Priced too high, but this is their high season, so that might be why.
The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Our room was a good size in a very quiet location. Very nice setting with easy access to Asilomar grounds and beach and seaside hiking trails beyond. Convenient access to Pacific Grove golf course, Point Pinos lighthouse and downtown Pacific Grove with several excellent (and reasonable) restaurants. A minor problem with our sink was quickly attended to.
Nothing serious. The hotel is a little worn about the edges and the TVs are old-fashioned CRTs.
This "gem" was such a surprise to us we enjoyed ourselves very much. It was exactly what I had been looking for and didn't know something like this existed in this area, away from touristy Monterey. It has a Lake Tahoe feel without the drive and traffic getting there and you can hear the quiet. We took a short walk to the beach, that alone was wonderful even though it was foggy it felt great escaping the 100 temp back home. We saw 2 deer across the street as we sipped wine with our cheeses and crackers in the early evening in the quaint lobby with a roaring fire in the fireplace, felt great. Our room, double queens were very comfortable, as was the bathroom, shower and tub. There were 4 bath/hand/wash towels as well as a coffee maker with coffee/sweeteners/creamer and popcorn popper with popcorn. There's a real fireplace inside the room but we didn't use it, we ran out of time to enjoy it, opting to turn on the heater for a little while. Our room was very comfortable, even though it was chilly outside. We didn't wake up with dry throats as in some places. The 2 hot tubs looked like they had been updated and were very clean and the perfect temperature. The continental breakfast was really great, fresh pastries/ bagels locally made, fresh fruit, cereal, cooked eggs, juice, coffee. The staff was warm and caring. One of my daughters left her rings on the bed and didn't realize it until we were 100 miles away. She called and they had them. She requested they be mailed to our home, which they did and they arrived on the day we returned. A big THANK YOU!! I get a feeling my kids want to come here with their friends, yeah it's that awesome of a place.
There was nothing I didn't like, although some people may prefer a more updated/modern place to stay. The furniture is dated, there's a old house smell in the room but it's not distracting, just makes it more charming. They could use some new bed pillows, they were flat.
The location was great, The wine and cheese in the lobby every evening was fantastic. A great chance to relax, meet you neighbors and exchange comments re the resturants and scenic spots in the area..
This is a great spot across the street from the beach....just a brief walk gets you to the powder-fine sand of a lovely Pacific Grove beach site. There is even a nice walking/running trail nearby. The breakfast was great...some really tasty pastries..some healthy, some not so much.. Staff was friendly. Loved the jacuzzi for warming up after a cold day at the beach. It is nestled comfortably innthe natural beauty of its surroundings.
My only complaints would be a clogged sink...probably the result of too much sand. Also, would've appreciated directions on starting a fire using the gas...I Tried for 45 minutes unsuccessfullynas a result of not knowing about the gas...just a few brief directions above the fireplace would've saved time and frustration.
Great location. Quiet. Clean.
Pricing through Booked.net was $135....hugher than if I had contacted the Inn directly....would have obtained a rate of $121.50 with my AAA.....
It was very homey and comfortable. I loved the special touches...like the popcorn and popper and the bakery pastries every morning. It was also only a 3 minute walk from the beach.
Good, pillows should have been replaced. Breakfast could have been better.
